ADJUSTABLE DOOR FRAME STEEL FRAME ZOS CASING The ZOS, just like any other door frame in our range, can be manufactured in non-standard widths, which helps you use this solution regardless of the condition of any of your existing door frames. The 6 mm curvature tolerance mentioned earlier is also the suggested clearance for installation (3 mm on each side). Unless the existing frame has been warped over 3 mm on either side during its lifetime, there are no reasons not to install a standard Steel Frame Casing and hang a typical door leaf on it. To check if fitting a standard ZOS is possible, measure the clear width and height of the existing door frame. The width should be measured in four places: at the level of the bottom and top hinges, and at the lock and threshold levels. The clear height should be measured in three places: at the corners and at the centre of the width of the existing frame. Moreover, the top and bottom corners of the existing door frame should be checked for right angles. This measurement is enough to validate or exclude the curvature of the existing frame. For door leaves hung on the ZOS, the installation of handles on a long, narrow back plate is recommended. This is related to reduction of the clear width of the frame by 30 mm without changing the width of the door leaf. Each Steel Frame Casing comes with a detailed installation manual with additional descriptions of the components comprising a set.
